Bubblemaker Bookworm

Well, I'm starting to study for my exams today. As the very first one is US Literature, step 1 is reading all the texts. Meanwhile, I'm listening to the radio and they were talking about children books. A women said that her son's first fav book was one with Perrault's fairy tales. While I was marking the texts in my Heaths, I thought about my books love story.

The main reason I had to enter my degree (English Studies) was that I love literature. I pretty like the other subjects too, but I chose that and not the Translation degree was literature, books. However, when that woman was talking about the topic, I remembered that when I was a child, I hated reading. I had my fairy tales and I loved my mum reading them to me before bedtime, but I didn't like to read them by myself. Maybe it's because I had to read and sumarize texts when I was 6 to 8 at school, and as I finished to do it before my partners did, the teacher gave me a book with advanced texts and I had to sumarize them too - even though I didn't like it, I seemed promising. The very first book I read because I wanted was one that a friend from Canarias gave me when I was 8. My mum even took my a pic!

My bookworm syndrome started, as it happened to many people, with Harry Potter. I was 12 and the first four books had been released when I met the young wizard. It was love at first sight and I couldn't separate from my books on no account. I still remember myself reading the fourth book in El Corte Inglés (a Spanish department store) while my mum was buying some stationery supplies for me to use them at the school. Believe me or not, but I have read the first four books
almost 40 times each one (and the fourth one is all ragged)

He amado y he odiado. He nacido y he muerto. Montones de veces.

And this is how all began. Since then, I've read about Templars, I've cried because of death characters, I've travelled to Ancient Greece, I've seen sparkling vampires, I've go down to hell and up to heaven, I've walked through snowed NYC parks, I've played pachinko, run through English moors, seen the death of a Pope, taken drugs in hippster San Francisco, seen how firemen burned books, fought in the WW2, the Spanish and the US Civil War... I've travelled from London to Israel in a convoy, seen how Englishmen tried to invade Japan, I've been kidnapped in a car by two men and used other ones, I've investigated murders and I've commited them too. I've loved and hated. I've been born and died. Lots of times.

When I've been down in my worst moments ever, my books have been there, by my side. They have made me laugh and seen me crying. They have made me reflect a lot and let me live things that mere mortals couldn't even dream. There had been a lot of people in my life - which generally have decided to leave me - but my books have always been there. They bring me to distant times and world, and maybe even universes. And that's because all of this that I thought I should write an entry about them, and a blog. Feeling Literature will be a blog where I'll post some significant texts, which will generally be short stories or poems. I'll also write a review about a book every now and then and something written by me.

Talking about distant worlds, I bought a Spongebob Squarepants bubble bottle yesterday!! Doing it in the street was a bit ridiculous, so I layed my towel in my bedroom's floor and played making bubbles. It's been a while since I wanted to buy one, and I'll keep it to play in the lolipicnic this summer. I'll try to take some cute pics making bubbles but finally the only one that I liked was one in which I laughed cause it was impossible to take one in a good way. I was not possing or something!

¡Y he perdido medio kilo más!

And talking about something completly different, the Secret Shop socks arrived yesterday! I simply love mine! They are soft and smooth and so lovely! When Hotaru and Kurisu told me how they want them shipped I'll pack them. And... I've lost another half kilo! And the doctor said that I'd luckly lost 5 kilos in this two months... fu... I have an appointment with him next week so let's see what he says.

Here you have a song by a group called Finger Eleven. I heard the song again, Paralyzer, in a Gossip Girl chapter the other day and looked for it. I'm listening to this and Bad Romance the whole day!

And how are you all spending June? University exams? A-levels or something similar? Ordinary life? I hope you all are great or at least don't be blue. Life sucks, we all know, but we shouldn't get all uptight about it, should we?

¡Besitos!
Kisses!
